Hopefully the managers that made you snap had the good grace to at least be somewhat ashamed Baby groot and thanos COVID19 shirt. When I was getting ready to be promoted to Manager my boss gave me control over an offshore team. Ordinarily I’m the type of manager that likes to align with my direct reports on what the goals and objectives are and let them choose the best path to get there. That usually works, except in this case the work we were offshoring some work that had very specific technical requirements. I didn’t put in the work up front to align with the team on what those requirements were, and as a result the team ended up doing a lot of re-work. Finally after asking one guy to re-record a specific asset from the beginning for the 10th+ time, he put in his resignation. I felt absolutely TERRIBLE. I was 24 about to be promoted to management and I fucked up.
