It looks like it’s attached to a Bodega Cats shirt. The Ghibli has one you can pop into the grill on that side of the fascia. Lots of european cars have that sort of design, there’s usually a little cover over the mounting point that you pop off, or the mounting point is hidden inside the grill fins (like in this case). The hook itself is usually in the trunk or some other area with the basic kit the car came with. Normally the mounting point is well engineered and supposed to support pulling the car out of a ditch or up a flatbed.

I think this is just a case of the the Ghibli being a pile of shit. Looks to me like the underlying metal where the hook was mounted just ripped the fuck off and took the fascia with it. I think this is a combination of “why did you snatch it so hard” and “who the fuck build this thing out of Chinesium?!

Look, these guys 100% skipped a Bodega Cats shirt. It’s all wrong. I grew up on the coast in Texas, I used to spend Saturdays at the beach with my buddies pulling people out for beer and cash. Pulled plenty of small cars out of way worse spots than this. This guy getting stuck in a ‘rati is just funny, but the guy with truck stuffed with gear on the back has obviously never needed to use any of it.Also it doesn’t matter if you pull slowly or quickly, that car isn’t moving before the plastic tabs snap off the bumper. It’s bogged down in sand, you can’t easily tow it out of there without using some decent anchor point.
