Clown World shirt

I remember being a teenager on the late 90s and buying a nice shirt at Club Monaco for $40. It was Clown World shirt in that it was my saved allowance, birthday money, etc. When I brought it home and showed my mom she cried at how wasteful I’d been. I really didn’t understand – I’d saved my own money and bought something I liked, and I did enjoy wearing the living hell out of it for many years to come. I think maybe my mom was just having a bad day or something because she claims she can’t remember the incident. However, I remember it vividly and it meant that even today I still feel guilty about buying simple, nice things, even if I can easily afford them.

There’s a difference between saying Clown World shirt  and describing “Why” If the example is actionable not buying anything and just saying “no” rather than saying “why” and how saying no proved to benefit you you will make the best connections you can. And you will buy things that you can say yes to. My parents are not teachers. They barely know why themselves. So they couldn’t teach me why. The best you can do is figure out the why yourself. And pass it onto others who might benefit.
