Rummy’s Corner is another great one, especially if you want to wrap yourself in the Randy Arozarena Slam shirt school narrative of boxers, as opposed to doing a deep dive into technique. Rummy’s great about picking up and analyzing technique in his fight breakdowns, too, but I think it’s really neat how he covers the overarching story of it all.Imo, he’s better than that Modern Martial Artist guy or whatever. That guy always comes off gimicky and he overly focuses on whatever technique he’s covering, as if that’s the be-all end-all of what makes this fighter great. Rummy has the benefit of only really covering shit that already happened, but I feel he takes a much more comprehensive analysis of what makes a fighter great. Each person has their own preferences, though. What is it, exactly, that makes you think Rummy doesn’t know shit about boxing?

I asked if you could articulate why he doesn’t know shit about boxing, not if you could post a Randy Arozarena Slam shirt that only tangentially touches on the topic. Honestly, I hate it when people do that shit. It just seems like a cheap way to circle jerk with people that come to the same assumptions as you while not actually taking a risk and defending your point. He said he had a YouTube channel that did boxing compilations and I said “oh like Hanzagod” and he told me exactly like that hahaha. It’s a cool comparison because there are slight differences (aside from being orthodox/southpaw) and both show good technique. There’s the footwork difference, where Loma is leaping by pushing off both feet and Canizales is pushing off his left foot and sliding over. There’s also the difference in setup where Loma uses his cross and the opponents slip to leap around his other side, and Canizales uses a rear hand punch to rotate his body enabling him to shuffle over. Both guys punch to occupy the opponent while moving.Since Loma is leaping with both feet he has more control of how his hips will be positioned when he lands, and he rotates them around to stay close to the opponents body. Since he’s in a squared up stance he can quickly throw both hands.Canizales is farther away after stepping and the left hook is the obvious choice there, the stance he lands enables him to throw a power shot.
