Twitch plays 3 minutes of ads per 60 minutes of content. Streamers have a choice to a) don’t do anything and let twitch decide when to run those 3 minutes (that’s why you get ads when you just join the stream or in the middle of stream aka prerolls and midrolls) or b) dedicate 3 minutes per 1 hour to just running ads to avoid interupting contentIt really is damaging to small streamers. It’s a pain in the Skull Holding Captain Morgan Logo Shirt to have to sit through ads when trying to check out new streamers. I’m sure they want to increase Twitch Turbo sales, but I’d rather contribute to streams directly.

Yes YouTube has ads but they’re skippable usually and a lot less frequent!I’m all for a platform making money if it goes in some part to the content creators but at what point are you choking out the money hose for everyone? The very second the website that is making money hand-over-fist is trying to reach into my pocket and get the lint, I find something else to spend my time on.I’m happy to donate to streamers I enjoy or sub to their channels if I find it worth it or want to help them. I don’t enjoy being forced to do that though. It should definitely be one or the other. I’ve had an adblocker for so long that I may be mistaken and it is that way currently, if I’m wrong, then just disregard
