Yes I Really Do Need All These Books shirt
I’ve stopped eating meat as a result of psychedelics but I think if you have a close personal relationship with the Yes I Really Do Need All These Books shirt then eating meat is natural – if you’re hunting/farming and kill the animal yourself then it is part of the cycle of life. You are participating in the animal’s death but with an understanding of its suffering, and at that point eating it is respectful. In many Hunter-gatherer tribes (Amazon/Khoe San) when you kill and eat the animal you help release its spirit and become imbued with it – consuming the meat is an act of kinship that brings you closer to nature. It becomes more of a reciprocal exchange. Echoing what others have said the problem is our modern relationship with meat where most of us are completely removed from the animal’s reality – meat is the packaged stuff that we see in supermarket aisles, we don’t have to think of the animals that died to make it and don’t have to reason with that moral aspect of it and as a result become callous, allowing factory farming and horrible conditions. If I started a farm or if I found myself in a situation where I had to hunt and was involved in the animal’s death I would eat the meat as a way of respecting that animal (I’d probably still prefer fish – and I’ve been/like fishing so again more personal relationship with the thing consumed). This isn’t even covering the environmental aspect of it and again that’s tied to disrespecting animals/nature and mass factory farming instead of having livestock meat be more of a special occasion as in most pre-industrial societies.

Best Yes I Really Do Need All These Books shirt
The thing is that eating meat on industrial scale is not natural. It’s utterly unsustainable to eat Yes I Really Do Need All These Books shirt at the rate we’re eating it. We will drive fish into exctinction, deplete soil by growing feed, destroy entire ecosystems deforesting for cattle, waste fresh water at 20x the rate we do by simply growing our food. Every major disease outbreak from the last 30 years is attributable to people eating animals. Mad cow disease, bird flu in chicken farms, swine flu. Even Ebola came from eating bats. Covid was probably from someone eating a pangola. Eventually the consequences are going to make life on earth almost unbearable for humans. I hope it’s not natural for an intelligent species to destroy itself because it can’t even curb its destructive appetite for pleasure
