Ok so we start off meeting Ron and Dawn Wright, a fundie couple who apparently educate people on “courtship.” They say they believe women should focus on being wives and mothers first yada yada yada nothing I haven’t heard fundies say before. And then… we learn that Kelly, a 33 year old woman, is pursuing courtship, and is living with Ron and Dawn and considers them her “spiritual parents.” And she has all of her “suitors” go through Ron and get his permission to date her. An unrelated, 33 year old woman, living in another family’s house waiting to find a husband. This is when I audibly gasped and started watching this CHAOS unfold. I should also add that Kelly spends the entire film either crying or on the verge of tears.
