On Thursday evening, the DSWT/KWS Tsavo Mobile Vet Unit rushed to the aid of this male elephant on the edge of Tsavo East National Park. A wire snare had cut painfully deep into his front left leg, causing the most horrific wound and unimaginable pain for this young bull, especially when he attempted to walk. Once darted with an anaesthetic, the team worked to cut him free of this trap before thoroughly cleaning the wound and applying green clay to aid healing and prevent infection.
